It was then ferried Adelaide (West Beach) to Melbourne (Tullamarine) as Flight AN4044 later that day, where it was then stored awaiting sale, having flown 37,025 hours with 19,632 cycles.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747SP-38 'City of Gold Coast Tweed' departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith) on its last flight, operating a supplementary freight service as Flight QF7571 to Hawaii (Honolulu). It was then ferried to Marana the next day as Flight QF6019 for storage and scrapping. On engine shut-down at Marana it had flown 75,238 hours with 14,011 cycles.
