It entered service later that day operating Flight NZ6 from Auckland to Los Angeles (United States). |

It was then ferried to Melbourne (Tullamarine) later that day as Flight DJ9062, where it was prepared for its flight to the United States for storage. |

The National Jet Systems / QantasLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-YQU was damaged whilst parked at Brisbane when strong winds blew a large water tank across the tarmac, striking the aircraft. It was removed from service and stored at Brisbane until the damage and the aircraft's paintwork were repaired. |
