Aircraft was to be returned by Qatar to AWAS and to be sold to Federal Express for conversion to freighter in 2007

The aircraft was severely damaged by fire whilst undergoing post lease maintenance at Abu Dhabi - April 18, 2007

A fire started on board the aircraft and almost the entire upper fuselage, from just behind the wing box to a

point aft of the flight deck, was burned through to the crown. The whole cabin had been gutted by the

blaze. Structural failure resulted with the rear section of the fuselage dropping to the hanger floor.
