The final Boeing 727-276A ordered new by Trans-Australia Airlines in December 1970, arrived at Melbourne (Tullamarine), having completed its delivery flight from the United States. This aircraft, VH-TBR 'Bert Hinkler' was routed via Christchurch as a 'flag-waving' exercise to promote the airline's recently announced direct jet services from Hobart to Christchurch. |
