The Butler Air Transport Douglas C-47A-25-DK VH-AOH 'RMA Warrumbungle' was destroyed when it crashed into trees after it overshot the runway on landing at Sydney (Schofields). It was engaged in a pilot training / aircraft acceptance flight at the time of the crash.

The Ansett Airlines Boeing 737-377 VH-CZC was wet-leased by Qantas Airways to operate the airline's inaugural Boeing 737 service from Brisbane to Honiara (Solomon Islands) return.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-838 VH-VXP 'Logan' arrived at Brisbane, having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle / Boeing Field) as Flight QF6024. It had the special '75th Anniversary of the first Transpacific Flight of Charles Kingsford Smith's 'Southern Cross' - May 31 - June 09, 1928' decal on the rear fuselage. It was the airline's 137th Boeing airliner and its 19th Boeing 737.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438 VH-OJM 'Gosford' operated its last service in its old livery, operating Flight QF87 from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Hong Kong. It was then ferried Hong Kong to Singapore (Seletar) the same day, for maintenance and repainting into the 'New Roo' livery by SASCO.
