On This Day - July 18, 1964.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-138B VH-EBA 'City of Melbourne' was used to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Australia's first 'Air Mail' flight, between Sydney and Melbourne. On this occasion VH-EBA flew from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Melbourne (Essendon) in 38 minutes and 25 seconds.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438 VH-OJG 'City of Hobart' arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having operated its last passenger service as Flight QF64 from Johannesburg (South Africa). It was then withdrawn from service and prepared for its ferry flight to the United States for storage.

The Jetstar Airways Boeing 787-8 VH-VKK arrived at Melbourne (Tullamarine) having completed its delivery flight from the United States. It was Qantas Airways' 208th Boeing airliner, and its 10th Boeing 787.
