The TAA Airlines of New Guinea Fokker F.27-2002 Friendship VH-TFA was sold to Air Niugini.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747SP-38 VH-EAA 'City of Gold Coast Tweed' operated a 'proving flight' from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to New Zealand (Wellington). On arrival at Wellington the crew participated in a tradional 'Maori Greeting Ceremony'.

On This Day - January 31, 1984.

The Ansett Air Freight Lockheed 188AF Electra VH-RMC operated its final cargo service as Flight AN1403 from Cairns - Brisbane - Melbourne (Tullamarine). It was then retired from service, having flown 51,261 hours with 40,015 cycles. It was sold to Turbo Power International on June 29.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGL was ferried from Sydney (RAAF Richmond) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith) after having the special 'Uniting Fans Around The World' titles and artwork, celebrating the Rugby World Cup, removed from it.

The Jetstar Airways Airbus A320-232 VH-VQS operated its last revenue service as Flight JQ515 from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Melbourne (Tullamarine). It was then ferried from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Singapore (Seletar) as Flight JQ8993 the next day, for repainting into the QantasLink 'New Roo' livery.
