This aircraft was ordered new by Fairchild-Hiller but was not taken up First flown - September 07, 1971 Purchased by MMA - September 07, 1971 Accepted by MMA at Amsterdam (Schiphol) - September 21, 1971 Entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-FKE - September 22, 1971 Registered to Ansett Transport Industries (Operations) Pty Ltd, Melbourne The aircraft was configured with 60 economy class seats Departed Amsterdam (Schiphol) on delivery flight to Australia - September 24, 1971 It arrived at Perth on completion of the delivery flight - September 27, 1971 Delivery route: Amsterdam - Brindisi - Ankara - Teheran - Karachi - Calcutta - Bangkok - Singapore - Denpasar - Port Headland - Perth Flight crew: Captains S. Goddard, N. Hill; G. J. Meadows; Navigator W. C. Kennedy Operated its first revenue service - October 03, 1971 It was named 'RMA Gascoyne' by Mrs J. T. Tonkin, wife of W.A. Premier - October 16, 1971 MacRoberstson Miller Airlines was renamed Airlines of Western Australia - July 01, 1981 Airlines of Western Australia was renamed Ansett W.A. - October 01, 1984 Transferred to Ansett Australia when Ansett W.A. operations were merged - July 01, 1993 Withdrawn from service at Perth - October 1993 Returned to service - date unknown Te aircraft was due to be retired in 1995 but was overhauled and remained in W.A. service It effectively became the last Fokker F28-1000 in Ansett service Operated its final revenue service Mt Newman - Perth (Captain H.
