The Tasman Empire Airways Limited Short S-25 Sandringham Mk 4 'Tasman Class' flying boat ZK-AMD 'Australia' operated its final passenger service. It was then withdrawn from service and stored at Auckland (Hobsonville) awaiting sale, having flown some 4,409 hours.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGD 'Maitland' operated its final revenue service, operating Flight QF925 from Cairns to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). It was then withdarwn from service at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having flown 73,423 hours with 25,893 cycles.
