The Qantas Airways Lockheed 1049G Constellation VH-EAB 'Southern Horizon' was withdrawn from service at Sydney (Kingsford Smith). All interior fittings were then removed in preparation for its conversion to an 'all-freight' configuration in Canada.

On This Day - May 26, 1971.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-338C VH-EBU 'City of Broken Hill' was involved in the infamous 'Mr Brown' extortion bid. The aircraft was operating Flight QF755 from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to Hong Kong (Kai Tak) when 'Mr Brown' demanded payment of $A 500,000 to reveal where he had placed an altitude-sensitive bomb on it, or it would explode mid-air whilst on descent.

The QantasLink Boeing 717-2BL VH-NXJ was ferried Adelaide (West Beach) to Perth for operation by National Jet Systems who had been awarded a contract to operate services for QantasLink .

The Jetstar Airways Airbus A320-232SL VH-VFU returned to service after having the 'Need-A-Break.com' decals applied to it, operating Flight JQ502 from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith).
