The Qantas Airways Boeing 707-138B VH-EBB 'City of Sydney' operated its last passenger service, flying the Kangaroo Route from the United Kingdom (London / Heathrow) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). It was then withdrawn from service, having flown 24,167 hours with 11,867 cycles, and advertised for immediate sale.

The Qantas Airways Lockheed 188C Electra VH-ECD 'Pacific Enterprise' operated the airline's final service into Melbourne (Essendon). All operations were then transferred to Melbourne (Tullamarine).

The Fokker F28-1018 Fellowship VH-FKD was returned to Air New South Wales at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) following its lease to Airlines of Western Australia.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438 VH-OJB 'Mt Isa' returned to service following its repainting into the standard Qantas livery in the United States (Louisiana). It was ferried from New Iberia to Los Angeles, before it operated Flight QF108 from Los Angeles to Sydney (Kingsford Smith).

The Jetstar Airways Airbus a320-232 VH-XJE arrived at Melbourne (Tullamarine) having completed its ferry flight from Singapore (Seletar) as Flight JQ8996. This aircraft had previously been operated in Australia by Jetstar Airways as VH-JQW.
