The Ansett-ANA Lockheed 188A Electra VH-RMA entered service, operating from Melbourne (Essendon) to Sydney (Kingsford Smith). It was the first Lockheed 188 Electra passenger service to be operated outside of the United States.

The Japan Air Lines Douglas C-54E-10-DC JA-6015 was purchased Ansett-ANA for use as a freighter. The aircraft was reregistered as VH-INM the next day.

The Airwork NZ Boeing 737-476 ZK-JTQ departed Brisbane on the ferry flight to the United States (Jacksonville) where it was converted to an 'all-freight' configuration.

The Jetstar Airways Airbus A320-232 VH-VQU was ferried Melbourne (Tullamarine) - Darwin - Singapore (Seletar) as Flight JQ8997, for repainting into the QantasLink livery. The aircraft will then be operated by Network Aviation for QantasLink.
