On This Day - June 13, 1938.

Ownership of the Short S.23 'C' Class Empire Flying Boat G-AEUH 'Corio' was officially transferred to Qantas Empire Airways Ltd from Imperial Airways Limited. This aircraft had been earmarked for delivery to QEA during its construction, but it was retained by Imperial Airways to cover their recent losses of Short S.23 'C' Class flying boats.

On This Day - June 13, 1974.

The Ansett Flying Boat Services Short S.25 Sunderland Mk 5 VH-BRF 'Islander' was returned to immediate service following the grounding of its sister aircraft, the Short S.25 Sandringham Mk 4 Tasman Class flying boat, VH-BRC 'Beachcomber' at Lord Howe Island on June 09, 1974. At the time 'Islander' was in the process of being prepared for its sale to Antilles Air Boats Inc.

The Ansett Airlines of New South Wales Fokker F.27-2101 Friendship VH-MMR was involved in a fatal accident at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) when an Ansett ground porter was killed when he walked into the rotating propeller.
