The ex United States Army Air Force Douglas DC-2-115G '41-1376' having been sold to Australian National Airways for spare parts and then rebuilt by A.N.A. engineers at Melbourne (Essendon) to an airworthy standard, was test flown from Melbourne (Essendon).

The Trans-Australia Airlines Fokker F.27-6152 Friendship VH-TQN 'John Batman' set a world record for the greatest number of people uplifted in a single Fokker F.27 Friendship flight, when it flew 61 people from Normanton to Mt Isa during the northwest Queensland floods.
