On This Day - February 06, 1981. The Qantas Airways Boeing 747SP-38 VH-EAA 'City of Gold Coast Tweed' entered service, operating Flight QF55 from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) to New Zealand (Wellington). However due to bad weather, the flight was diverted to Auckland, where it overnighted before being ferried to Wellington the next day. |
