The Pan American Airlines Boeing 707-321B N892PA 'Clipper Star King' crashed at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) whilst taking-off. There were no fatalities but the aircraft was very badly damaged.

On This Day - December 01, 1970.

The Ansett Airlines of New South Wales Fokker F28-1018 VH-FKD operated its first revenue service, operating Flight WX1002 from Sydney to Dubbo. This was the first jet-engined airliner to be utilised on New South Wales intrastate flights.

On This Day - December 01, 1990.

The Compass Airlines Airbus A300B4-605R VH-YMJ entered service, operating Flight YM2001 from Brisbane to Sydney (Kingsford Smith).

On This Day - December 01, 2005.

The Impulse Airlines Boeing 717-2K9 VH-IMD was ferried from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Sydney (RAAF Richmond) as Flight JQ7980 for repainting into the revised QantasLink livery.

On This Day - December 01, 2013.

The Virgin Australia Boeing 737-8FE VH-VUC 'Foxsy Rock'sy' operated its last service in the 'Virgin Blue' livery as Flight VA1375 from Launceston to Melbourne (Tullamarine). It was then ferried Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Townsville as Flight VA9941 later that day for repainting into the standard Virgin Australia livery by Flying Colours.
