The BOAC Short S.23C Empire Class flying boat G-AETV 'Coriolanus' was transferred to Qantas Empire Airways in exchange for their S.23C Empire Class flying boat VH-ABF 'Cooee' that had been isolated in the western sector of the 'Horseshoe' route. 'Coriolanus' was reregistered as VH-ABG.

The Qantas Airways Boeing 737-838 VH-VXO 'Kakadu' arrived at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) having completed its delivery flight from the United States (Seattle) as Flight 6020. It was the airline's 132nd Boeing airliner and its 18th Boeing 737.
